Job Details

Our innovative virtual clinical observership programme provides experienced Psychiatrists with a personal and authentic understanding of working in the NHS as a senior Psychiatrist from anywhere in the world. Scotland has always been a favourite destination for Psychiatrists from all over the world to develop their skills and expertise in Psychiatry in a wide variety of sub-specialisms including: General Adult psychiatry, Older adults psychiatry, Child and Adolescence Psychiatry, Learning Disability, Addictions, Eating disorders, Psychotherapy, Rehabilitation Psychiatry, Liaison psychiatry, Forensic psychiatry, Perinatal Psychiatry and Academic Psychiatry.

Who is this for?

This virtual Clinical observership is designed for Psychiatrists with at least 4 years of experience of working in Psychiatry with an acceptable postgraduate qualification in the field who are looking for perspective opportunities of working as senior practitioners in the U.K. You would have already started your journey towards attaining GMC registration and have necessary ‘Evidence of Knowledge of English’ as required by GMC for registration (Evidence of your knowledge of English - GMC (gmc-uk.org). If planning on using the PLAB route to registration, you would have already passed PLAB 1.
This programme is particularly suited for psychiatrists aspiring for the CESR (Certificate of eligibility for specialist registration) route to become Consultant Psychiatrists in the NHS in the near future.

What will you get?

The 2 week virtual programme will provide valuable insights
into working in Psychiatry in the NHS and provide access to group and
1:1 interactions with Consultants and senior practitioners in various sub
specialities of Psychiatry. As a clinical observer you will also be able to participate in virtual Multi-disciplinary Community mental health meetings, clinics, ward rounds and have opportunities to build a network of support which can be vital in ensuring that your move to the U.K. is smooth and organised. You will also receive a certificate of completion of clinical obersvership and mentorship support for 6 months after completing your virtual observership.

What you will need?

A good working internet connection is essential. The majority of sessions
will be providing using web interfaces like Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

What is the Cost?

This virtual clinical observership is provide free of charge for suitable
candidates short listed based on CV.

What is the Visa Requirements?

As this is a virtual programme, there are no visa requirements for this programme.
