About the role
As a key part of our Chemical pathology team, you will work closely with our experienced staff to provide high quality, efficient and accurate results. Providing referrers with expert advice on the details of the testing, clinical interpretations of the results and appropriate further investigations for patient management. In addition you assist the interpretation and running of the Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) service at Labtests. Support and time to upskill in this area will be provided if the candidate does not have prior experience.
APHG commenced non-invasive pre-natal testing under the Illumiscreen brand in August 2017. Illumiscreen remains the only provider in NZ that tests samples on our shores. We have a small and incredibly passionate team conducting all national testing from the Labtests laboratory (Auckland). The Illumiscreen service has grown exponentially since inception and with automation deployment planned for 2021 we will continue to see expansion of capacity and test offering within this portfolio.

Flexible and part time working arrangements will be considered. Employment will be subject to registration with the New Zealand Medical Council (NZMC). The minimum requirements for registration include a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and post graduate training in Chemical pathology.
