An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Physician has arisen within the Respiratory and General Medical team based at Raigmore Hospital.

The Respiratory Unit is a progressive department which has benefitted from relocation to carefully designed facilities on the top floor of the hospital. There is a team of medical staff, specialist nurses and AHPs who collectively deliver services covering sleep/NIV, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, and a pleural procedure service.

This post is to provide Respiratory Medicine expertise, including an area of special interest, and also contribute to general medicine admissions. It offers the challenge of delivering high quality health care to patients living in remote locations, including the opportunity to perform peripheral clinics.

The Highlands offer a unique environment for a variety of leisure activities, and good schools and facilities for families.

This post is offered as 10 Programmed Activities per week, with the possibility of a further 2 EPAs of additional work. Two PAs are allocated for SPA activities. The details are indicated in the job description and job plan, however applications from individuals who wish to work flexibly, for example by working less than 10PAs, are welcome.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for General Medicine, with a Licence to Practice or be within 6 months of being eligible for the Specialist Register at the time of interview.
