UL Hospitals Group comprises:
University Hospital Limerick (UHL)

St. John’s Hospital Limerick
Recent expansion has seen 98 new beds opened at UHL, our main acute hospital, during 2020/early 2021. These are all state-of-the-art, en-suite, single rooms for male or female patients, providing care and treatment for acutely ill patients from admission to discharge. Each ward has been planned out to benefit work practices and maximise infection prevention and control. Planning permission has now been granted for building work on a new 96 Bed Ward Block at UHL.
At Croom Orthopaedic Hospital, the Group’s orthopaedic hospital and regional centre of excellence in orthopaedics, rheumatology, pain management and scheduled surgery, the Maigue Unit, a modern, state-of-the-art ward complex with 24 en-suite single rooms has just opened. Work is also ongoing at Croom to complete a new €15m theatre suite, complete with four new operating theatres, a first stage recovery room and reception area.
With our academic partner, the University of Limerick, UL Hospitals is one of the top teaching hospitals in Ireland.
