An exciting opportunity has arisen within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services for two Consultant Psychiatrist posts in Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

CAMHS in NHS Highland - Argyll and Bute HSCP is undertaking a programme of change in line with the Scottish Governments ambitions for improved mental health and wellbeing for all young people in Scotland. The improvement plans set out a series of projects to improve access with a shift to early help and support. The key focus is on achieving good clinical outcomes and developing services in partnership with children and families with lived experience of CAMHS.

We currently have two Consultant Psychiatrist posts available which consist of one full-time (40 hours) and one part-time (28 hours), both posts provide the potential to offer considerable room for personal development as well as the development of specialist interests both within Argyll and Bute and across NHS Highland.
The appointee(s) will be expected to contribute to clinical governance and to the overall management of the clinical service by representation of medical perspectives at different local and national fora.

Argyll and Bute offers some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery and is a wonderful place to live and work providing a wonderful place to raise a family, whilst affording an excellent quality of life. It also provides amazing opportunities for a range of outdoor activities such as hill walking, golf, sailing and cycling. There is a wide choice of areas to live including small urban towns and more remote locations.

The posts are as advertised, however consideration will be given to alternative hours and any changes to the job description will be agreed.

Candidates must have a higher qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or be within 3 months of eligibility. Candidates should be AMP approved.
