The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic consultant team that supports and delivers a modern, comprehensive emergency service. This is a small, friendly department with big ideas and a commitment to improving our service by embracing change and innovation.

You will be expected to take an active role in all aspects of patient’s medical care, providing a consultant led and delivered service including operational responsibility for the day-to-day running of the department. Opportunities to develop specialist areas of interest are encouraged and supported with potential for research, leadership and management roles and an SPA allocation to match.

This post is being offered as Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust continue to develop our long standing partnership with a view to becoming a single integrated organisation across Eastern and Northern Devon. Working together gives us the opportunity to offer unique and varied careers across our services combining the RD&E’s track record of excellence in research, teaching and links to the university with NDHT’s innovation and adaptability.

NDHT is consistently ranked top in the South West for staff satisfaction with the main hospital located in Devon, a county frequently voted as one of the best places in the UK to live.
