This 16 month maternity Locum Consultant post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated and dynamic team of clinicians in Lambeth. CAMHS and the CAMHS Clinical Academic Group of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is one of the most comprehensive mental health service for children and young people in the country.

The Trust is a leading mental health service provider working in partnership with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience as part of the King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.

There are excellent opportunities for professional development including management, training, research and audit experience. There is also opportunity for teaching locally within the service to multi-disciplinary and medical colleagues, to post-graduates at King’s College London, and to psychiatry trainees on the Maudsley/SLaM training scheme.

We are seeking a Community Locum Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist (10 PAs) to join the established Lambeth CAMHS medical team providing cover to the Tier 3 River Team (6 sessions) the Tier 2  Spring Team (2 sessions) and the Lambeth ADHD Review medication clinic (2 sessions).

The teams attend to children and young people up to the age of 18 years who present with a range of significant mental health difficulties. The main team base is located at William Geoffrey House, 35 Black Prince Road, Kennington. The role involves some remote working in line with current NHS guidelines.

The post holder will work alongside 4 other Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists within the Borough. Lambeth CAMHS is made up of six teams including the Tier 3 Child and Adolescent Community Service (River), Early Intervention CAMHS (Spring), Community Crisis Team (Rapids), Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS), the CAMHS Youth Offending Team (CAMHS-YOS), and the Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS). The teams are multidisciplinary and include a wide range of experienced staff.
