MBT Consultant Medical Psychotherapist - 10PAs - Permanent

South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) has an exciting opportunity and is looking to recruit a Permanent Consultant Medical Psychotherapist for its newly developed MBT Service in Southwark, at the Maudsley Hospital.

In this new role, the Consultant Medical Psychotherapist’s expertise will be essential in shaping the new MBT Service in Southwark, where evidence-based psychological interventions will be provided to a selected group of patients – fully supported by a Specialty and Core trainees and an experienced multidisciplinary team. The Consultant will have a unique opportunity to work with the executive leadership team to develop effective interface and liaison between services, including the Neighbourhood CMHTs, currently undergoing Community Transformation, and the Inpatient wards. This role is for the individual interested in service improvement and development of their leadership skills, as well as medical education.

It is a condition of your employment that you are, and remain a fully registered medical practitioner and are included on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry held by the General Medical Council (GMC), or are eligible for inclusion into the register within six months of your appointment and continue to hold a licence to practice. You will be approved under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and be an Approved Clinician or able to achieve this within 3 months of your appointment.

The salary range for this post is in accordance with the NHS consultant salary scale (whole time), plus London Weighting (whole time).
