Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust was founded in January 2012 coming together from Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk Mental Health Partnership.
An opportunity has arisen to appoint to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist of 10 PAs specialising in general adult psychiatry in the East of Suffolk. The post is based in our CRHT team at Woodlands unit, Ipswich Hospital.
You will be working with a team of enthusiastic and committed multi-disciplinary colleagues including Nursing, Psychology, Social work, Occupational Therapy, CBT Therapists, Speech and Assistant Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
CRHT work very closely with our 2 acute inpatients ward, PICU and our Integrated Delivery Teams. Our Integrated Delivery Teams are made up of community teams for Adult, Youth, Later Life, and Learning Disability along with other specialist services such as Eating Disorder, Early Intervention and Childrens mental health. They are based in three locations in the East locality, serving the populations of Ipswich, Coastal and Central Suffolk.

Applicants for the post should have or be eligible for a CCT and eligible onto the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date. Full GMC registration, approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, eligibility for Approved Clinician status and appropriate adult psychiatry experience are required.

Person Specification Experience Essential
- Experience of the assessment and treatment of complex mental disorders in a relevant population Experience of providing medical leadership in multi-disciplinary teams Experience of clinical governance processes including ability to use quality improvement methods as a tool to improve quality of care Experience in risk assessment and risk management
- Sub-speciality experience relevant to the clinical role (2) Relevant sub-specialty endorsement Experience of multiagency working relevant to the role Experience of building great teams
- GMC Recognised basic medical degree MRCPsych or Equivalent Included on the GMC specialist register or within 3 months of CCT or equivalent in a relevant clinical specialism Approved Clinician and Section 12 Approval under MHA
