Applications are invited for the posts of Specialty Registrar in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).

We have two posts available to commence from 04 August 2021 until 02 August 2022.

The successful candidate will spend six months based in the Emergency Department and six months in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

CUH is the Major Trauma Centre for the East of England region and provides excellent training.

These posts are recognised for training for the sub-specialty of Paediatric Emergency Medicine by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. All applicants must hold a National Training Number in Emergency Medicine and must be in a higher specialist training post.

Doctors currently in an Emergency Medicine Higher Specialist Training post in the East of England can do this post as part of their rotation, adding an extra year to their training programme.

Candidates outside of the East of England Emergency Medicine Training Programme are eligible to apply to their home Deanery for Out of Programme for Training (OOPT) approval to have the post recognised for training. Candidates without OOPT approval will be considered, providing they have the appropriate level of experience.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years.
