Carnival UK is the operating company for P&O Cruises and Cunard. Our ships are like small towns, and can occupy up to 6000 guests and crew. As a Doctor, this is an exciting opportunity that allows you to develop your skills and experience in a remote working environment. As part of a passionate and professional team you will visit different places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that stay with you for a lifetime.
Being a Doctor on board one of our Cunard or P&O Cruises ships means far more than treating sea sickness and sun burn. We believe that holidays are one of life’s great pleasures, and when someone feels unwell, we do everything we can to get them feeling fit, happy and reassured as quickly as possible. Our doctors are required to use their A&E or Critical Care experience to look after patients with all types of ailments, sicknesses, and health problems – from sun burn, broken bones, and family planning, to cardiac arrests.
This means that our Doctors need to be ready for anything! Using our fully-equipped medical centre, you are there to ensure critical emergencies are dealt with promptly and swiftly, combining the challenges of remote medicine with a varied caseload and real autonomy. Every day is different and every cruise offers a new experience.
To become a Ship Doctor, you must be a fully qualified doctor with current medical registration recognised by the GMC, four years post qualified. Due to the nature of remote working, we ask that you have a minimum of six months recent experience within A&E or a Critical Care Environment. For GMC registered doctors, we will ensure you maintain your UK registration while working across the globe.
It takes great passion and real dedication to maintain our position at the top. That’s why people are at the heart of our journey delivering the highest standards to our valued customers. With support to help you reach your potential, attractive company benefits and incredible employee offers on discounted cruises we want your career with us to be successful and fun. We pride ourselves on having worked with the NSPCC on the safeguarding aspects of our recruitment process to promote the safety and well-being of child passengers. Carnival UK is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees, volunteers and contractors to share this commitment.
