Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC is a social enterprise, rooted in our local community, and led by Healthcare Professionals with many years of experience in caring for patients in East Brighton. This provides us with a unique perspective; not only are we a trusted partner for local community groups and service providers, but at the core of our organisation is a shared motivation to improve lives in the community that we serve, and ensure that we contribute to the improved health of the population of our city.
Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC was established in 2018 to improve the health and wellbeing of patients living in this area of high deprivation within Brighton. We are achieving this by providing our community with stable, local, integrated primary healthcare.
At Wellsbourne Healthcare, we believe in our GPs having a varied and fulfilling role within the practice. We focus on innovation, excellence, and inclusivity and are looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Salaried GP (2-5 sessions per week) to join our friendly practice, starting April/May 2021. We pride ourselves on our strong focus on staff wellbeing; with sociable daily morning breaks and twice weekly yoga sessions, as well as weekly clinical and MDT meetings.
We have six salaried GP’s, three Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a nursing team of five, two Clinical Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Practitioner, and a Social Prescribing team. Our clinicians are supported by a well-organised and efficient administrative team. We teach medical, nursing and pharmacy students and enjoy being a training practice.
We encourage innovation, helped by our strong links with the local university. As a practice we are particularly proud of our research and pilot projects including an opiate reduction program, chronic pain management course, volunteer-led practice garden development, and counselling programme.
As a Community Interest Company, we do not have GP Partners. Our leadership is comprised of three Clinical Directors; two GP’s and one ANP, and a wider Board of four Non-Executive Directors from a wide range of backgrounds. All practice profits go back to our community.
