Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Medical Virology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  This post is available from 01 April 2021 until 30 September 2021.

The successful candidate will work with colleagues to contribute to the provision of the Clinical Virology service within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), and help to enable the laboratory to fulfil its role as a Public Health England (PHE) Regional Laboratory.

Medically qualified applicants will be expected to have relevant qualifications (including CCT or equivalent and FRCPath), and experience in providing specialist Virology services and the clinical management of viral diseases, and its application to public health.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Virology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
