East London Community Eating Disorder Service for Children and Young People (EL-CEDS-CYP) are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The team consists of child and adolescent psychiatry, paediatrics, psychology, nursing, systemic family therapy, dietetics and administrative staff who are committed to developing innovative and effective ways of working. The specialty doctor will contribute to the provision of a specialist and multi-disciplinary community based eating disorder service for children and young people to the area of East London, serving the boroughs of City and Hackney, London Borough of Newham and Tower Hamlets. Supervision will be provided from both the lead psychiatry consultant as well as the general paediatric consultant.

This is an, interesting, and varied job regularly joint working with other members of the teams to assess and treat young people and their families with eating disorders and any associated physical and mental health difficulties. The post holder will provide high quality evidence based mental health assessments and treatments. This will include professional and practice development to ensure high quality client-centred care. There will be a requirement to participate in the duty rota (within office hours). This post may be of particular interest to applicants wishing to pursue specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry or in eating disorders in the future.
