Consultant in Adult Community Psychiatry
EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic consultant to work in our adult community consultant post for Canvey Island/Benfleet area. The community team is made up of First Response (FRT) and Recovery Well Being teams (RWB). All new referrals are received by the FRT. The patients are allocated to the consultant according to catchment area. FRT provides key working/care coordination as appropriate. They work with patients to maximum of 6 months and supported by OTs and psychologists.
The consultant will work closely with both the teams for the catchment area patients. Canvey Island area has approximately 350 – 400 patients who are under the care of secondary mental health service. Of these patients, approximately 100- 150 are care coordinated by FRT or RWB team and another 100 are key worked by these teams as they are non CPA patients. 100- 150 patients are in consultant standalone clinics. The consultant would be supported by a part time speciality doctor and a trainee doctor to look after these patients. The post is completely community based.
