St James’s University Hospital
Required to join the Leeds Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia specialist services at St James’s University Hospital. You will become a key member of a dedicated and highly experienced multidisciplinary team.
The Leeds Adult CF Unit has a well-established clinical research programme and is an accredited site for the European Cystic Fibrosis Society Clinical Trial Network and the CF Trust Accelerator Platform.
You will have joint responsibility for overseeing the care of our cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and PCD in both the out-patient and in-patient setting (14 dedicated CF beds) with 3 other consultants and an associate specialist. This is a full time post, with supervision of the junior doctors and specialist nurses. There will also be an on-call commitment to cover the CF rota on a 1:4 and the Respiratory medicine medical rota on a 1: 12 basis. The department of Respiratory Medicine has undergone significant modernisation over recent years and remains a centre for clinical and educational excellence. Inpatient services are provided at St James’s Hospital which includes three Respiratory wards, twelve beds NIV / Weaning unit, a dedicated CF ward, a procedures room, Sleep services and a Nurse-led day unit. There are cross city outpatient facilities including a dedicated chest clinic at the Leeds General Infirmary.
