Consultants in Emergency Medicine
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Consultants in Emergency Medicine to work as part of our dynamic Emergency Medicine team based at the Worcester Royal Hospital (WRH) and Alexandra Hospital (AH) in Worcestershire. The two departments work together to provide Emergency Care to the population of Worcestershire and surrounding areas.
WRH sees over 70,000 new attendances per annum of which 22% are under 18 years. The minor injury services are led by ENPs in recently refurbished dedicated areas. WRH is a designated Trauma Unit in the Birmingham, Black Country, Hereford and Worcester Regional Trauma Network. WRH serves as the hub for Worcestershire & Herefordshire for PPCI and Vascular Surgery and inpatient ENT and Maxillofacial Surgery. The hospital also offers the countywide Paediatric, Surgical and Hyperacute Stroke Services.
AH sees over 50,000 new attendances per annum with minor injury services led by ENPs. ED EAS performance at the AGH has improved significantly during the past year following changes in practice at the front door and improved flow into Acute Medicine and other specialties. Inpatient specialties on the Alexandra site include
Urology, T&O, elective surgery, Acute Medicine and a wide range of specialist medicine including Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Diabetes.
We are seeking Emergency Medicine (ED) consultants who are passionate about continuing to develop and deliver comprehensive high quality emergency care for all ages. Opportunities are also available for colleagues to develop their areas of sub-specialty interest. Successful candidates would ideally be joining the current
consultants on a full time EM rota. We are able to support LTFT working. We believe in a positive and supportive working environment and are committed to improving our services.
Substantive and fixed term (Trust locum posts) will be considered.
