Consultants in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals - The Leeds Way
St James’s University Hospital
Required to fill these new and replacement posts. We seek those who are interested and have a proven track record in education and research, as we are dedicated to extending the boundaries of healthcare and allowing you to expand the knowledge in your specialism for the benefit of the patient and the profession.
We would like applicants who are passionate about passing on these skills to the next generation of doctors and healthcare professionals. Adult Critical Care in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) is one of only 5% of all Critical Care services in the country to achieve the title of Outstanding, rated by the Care Quality Commission in its report published 15 February 2019.
The LTHT Critical Care service is pivotal to the successful delivery of many of the in-patient pathways delivered by the Clinical Service Units across the Trust. In the local and regional area there continues to be growing demand from specialist cardiac, neurosciences, major trauma, cancer and transplantation specialties (to name but a few). The specialist medical and surgical services are located at both of the main sites (LGI and SJUH).
The successful delivery of critical care services directly impacts on the outcomes for patients suffering from a range of illnesses and conditions including the top 5 causes of premature death: cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease and liver disease.
