CLINICAL FELLOW (ST Equivalent)
IN RENAL MEDICINE
Available immediately until August 2021
with option to extend to 12 month post
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Tayside Renal team as a Clinical Fellow. Our service is currently led by 6 consultants and 1 associate specialist. The successful applicant will join our current team of renal specialty trainees based in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The post is available immediately but a start date of 3 February 2021 is an option. The post is confirmed until August 2021 in the first instance with the option to extend to a 12 month post.
Dundee is Scotland’s fourth largest city and lies 20 miles east of Perth on the north bank of the River Tay. It houses two large Universities (Abertay and Dundee) and is the focal point for the on-going development of a thriving biomedical technology industry. Ninewells Hospital and Medical School is a major teaching hospital and provides a comprehensive range of services with specialist units. The renal department enjoys close links with the University of Dundee Medical School and Life Sciences and the successful applicant will be encouraged to develop their role as an educator and researcher.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to gain intensive and wide-ranging experience in all aspects of renal medicine and will be encouraged to participate in all the training, teaching, audit and research opportunities within the department. Our in-patient facility is a 15 bedded ward, taking direct admissions including renal emergencies requiring acute dialysis. Our outpatient workload includes many specialist clinics and providing care to both hospital and home based chronic dialysis patients and renal transplant recipients. There is a 1 in 6 evening and weekend on call commitment.
The post provides an excellent opportunity to gain renal experience that can help develop your CV and increase the chance of securing an NTN in due course.
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Vinod Sanu – Clinical Lead for Renal Medicine (vinod.sanu@nhs.scot).
Salary: £33,883 - £53,280
