An exciting opportunity has arisen for six enthusiastic clinicians to help shape the future operating model of medicine at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust is expanding its medical specialties workforce, starting with an additional 6 medical consultant posts in Respiratory Medicine (2 posts), Older People’s Medicine (2 posts), Diabetes and Endocrinology (1 post) and Infectious Diseases (1 post).
Successful applicants will join our Medicine Service Group on The James Cook University Hospital site in Middlesbrough, with an occasional requirement to work from other sites.
These posts offer an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic clinicians to join our teams in developing both acute and individual service portfolios and the post holders will participate in all aspects of the service. The successful candidates will also participate in specialist on-call with acute medicine on-call commitments.
The Medicine Service Group that these roles cover includes 4 inpatient ward areas and 4 outpatient services, covering all of the individual services of these specialties.
Working in the North East offers an excellent quality of life for professionals. This area boasts great transport links with easy access to a beautiful coastline/countryside and a great range of local amenities, excellent schools, shopping and nightlife. London and Edinburgh are just 2.5 hours by train.
Applicants should possess full GMC registration, MRCP (or equivalent) and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.
The successful candidates will be appointed under the current terms and conditions of service for NHS Consultants. Full consideration will be given to applicants who wish to apply for a reduced/part time contract.
