Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher) in General Medicine with a Specialty Interest to be decided on appointment, available from as soon as possible until 03 August 2021.

Posts are available in General Medicine with the following specialties: Acute Medicine, Care of the Elderly, Renal Medicine, Hepatology, Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Respiratory Medicine.

As well as providing you with experience of working in a ward environment within a specific specialty in Medicine, these posts will also offer you the opportunity to partake in the running of the General Medical Take based in the Emergency Department.

We are looking for individuals with excellent acute care skills; staff will be required to be proactive in driving the patient journey and be able to be an effective member of a close multidisciplinary team.

There is excellent senior support and supervision from a team of dedicated Consultants. The Trust offers plenty of other educational opportunities. The Clinical Fellow is also encouraged to attend one specialty clinic of their choosing per week and to contribute to teaching of junior staff.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
• GMC registered with a license to practise
• Full MRCP or equivalent
• Completion of a Core Medical / Acute Care Training Programme, or equivalent 
• Recent exposure to acute unselected medical take

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
