The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in General Practice. This exciting post within the Department of Primary Care and Mental Health will provide rich opportunities to contribute to the research portfolio within the research themes of the department.
The department and institute offer a collaborative inter-disciplinary environment, allowing the successful applicant to build a senior research career within academic primary care. We have a strong track record of National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) funding, assisted by the support of the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) based within the department, and excellent research experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
We have close links to the Liverpool Reviews and Implementation Group, the Liverpool Clinical Trial Centre and the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science. We also have a licence for Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) data with its use supported by a Senior Lecturer in Public Health. Through the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North West Coast and the RDS we have a mature public involvement and co-production culture linked to implementation science within the ARC North West Coast.
You should have a PhD or MD in a relevant research area and should be fully
qualified as a general medical practitioner. Please note if this is a first Senior Clinical Lecturer appointment it will be subject to the University Post CCST Fellowship Scheme which runs for five years, at the end of year three you will be reviewed for confirmation in a permanent clinical academic position.
