We have a 12 months fixed term consultant post in the Tower Hamlets Home Treatment Team (TH HTT). This team has a well-established track record of innovation and research involving service users, and is committed to providing high quality care. The team was re-accredited in 2016 by the CCQI (RCPsych). The combined TH HTT and Tower Hamlets Crisis House model of crisis care is noted as a local inspiration by the Crisis Concordat. The emphasis of the Home Treatment Team is to reduce the necessity for inpatient treatment by providing intensive input for patients in the community, with a view to preventing admission and/or facilitating early discharge. The Tower Hamlets HTT is configured as a single team focused as a true alternative to inpatient care. The team performs the nationally mandated gate-keeping role for the inpatient unit at Mile End Hospital and works closely with the Mental Health Liaison service based at the Royal London Hospital.
