We’re looking for you to be part of one of the region’s largest Acute Medicine Units, as we continue to strengthen our service.
We welcome applicants who are passionate about providing great medical care. If you are an outstanding physician we need you to join our enthusiastic and forward-thinking Acute Medicine Team.
This is a very exciting time to join us at WUTH. You will be part of continuing our progressive journey of quality improvement as our services and organisation continue moving into the future, including embarking on an £18 million redevelopment of our front door services.
Our Acute Medicine department comprises three clinical areas: the Urgent Medical Assessment Centre, the Acute Medicine Unit, and the Respiratory Receiving Unit, which was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to accommodate and assess patients presenting potential symptoms of COVID-19.
Our aim is to deliver the highest quality care for every patient. As a teaching hospital we are renowned as a leader in the region for high quality education and training for a wide range of staff including doctors, nurses and other clinicians. We are proud of our teaching hospital status and we work closely with the University of Liverpool, the University of Chester, and Liverpool John Moores University to ensure staff and services reflect the very best clinical practice.
Our organisation is at the forefront of innovation and a centre of excellence for digital technology. With the rare status of a Global Digital Exemplar (GDE), we are one of the most digitally enabled hospitals in the country, and one of the country’s most advanced trusts in using technology to enhance patient care.
We are open to Acute Medicine Consultants that are already on the GMC specialist register or those who will be attaining specialist registration within six months at the time of interview.
Applications from consultants in medicine with any speciality interests are also welcome.
