Junior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.
The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.
The post would be suitable for any trainee who has successfully completed a 2-year Foundation School programme or has achieved equivalent competencies. Previous relevant medical experience would be desirable but not essential. The post comprises care of cardiology patients in a busy tertiary centre with general ward duties and participation in the eight person full shift rota with out of hours commitments.
For appropriately qualified individuals there will be the opportunity to gain additional practical cardiology experience. We consider good postgraduate education and training with appropriate educational supervision to be essential components of these posts. Within the Trust there is a comprehensive postgraduate teaching programme with protected MRCP teaching time and access to the excellent medical school library facilities (Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas School of Medicine).
Post to commence ASAP.
Interview date: TBC.
