Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
Applications are invited for a substantive post in respiratory medicine in Gloucestershire.
The appointed applicant will support the development of their subspecialty interest. This will also support the development of the proposed respiratory HDU.
There are established and developing sub-specialty services including sleep and non-invasive ventilation, interventional bronchoscopy including EBUS, tuberculosis, interstitial lung disease, asthma, COPD, non-CF bronchiectasis, and pleural diseases. There are excellent facilities for bronchoscopy and medical
thoracoscopy. This is a great opportunity to join a great respiratory service at a key point in its development.
Candidates will need to be accredited in or working towards accreditation in G(I)M.
NHS England have recently confirmed that Gloucestershire is to become one of only 14 Integrated Care Systems (ICS) across the country as part of Wave 2. Services in Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are situated in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital. These services are currently under review with plans being developed to concentrate unscheduled care and respiratory medicine onto the Gloucestershire Royal Site.
