Your new life in Northland - NZ!
Interested in an exciting opportunity for a consultant gastroenterologist? Picture yourself in sunny Northland with some of the most spectacular scenery NZ has to offer and an unparalleled work life balance. An excellent relocation package is available to bring you and your family to Whangarei Hospital. You could be our second specialist gastroenterologist or combine the role with internal medicine.
As well as a warm climate, the "winterless north" has excellent schools, affordable housing and scenic coastal areas offering a vast range of recreational activities. We are just two hour's drive from the international hub of Auckland.
Whangarei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services with our three rural hospitals. Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres and a population of 180,000.
We are re-developing our endoscopy facilities and will move to a dedicated suite within the next 12 months. You will help us develop a sustainable service for bowel disease and introduce bowel screening.
We want candidates with a real enthusiasm for teaching who are team players committed to improving and developing services to meet the population need. You must be eligible to register with the Medical Council of New Zealand and we can assist with this and work visa.
You will also possess FRACP or an equivalent qualification. Trainees within a few months of completing FRACP training are welcome to express an interest. ERCP experience is desirable, but not essential.
