There has been a lot of change within Gastroenterology at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust over the past few months and we now have exciting opportunities available for consultants to join our team. The GI Unit is a newly formed, forward-thinking department, combining gastroenterology, endoscopy, emergency general surgery and upper gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery.
Our aspiration is to become a leading GI Unit, so we need you to be passionate and driven, among other things, to shape a modern innovative gastroenterology service providing outstanding care to local patients. These are the foundations required to support the GI Unit to move onto the next part of its journey.
The service provides comprehensive care for patients with disorders relating to the gastrointestinal tract. Physicians, surgeons, specialist nurses and allied health professions work closely together to provide in house multidisciplinary care for all patients with gastrointestinal problems in both the emergency and elective inpatient and outpatient settings.
With this, comes opportunity to have your own needs met in terms of job plan and sub specialism. Sub specialty areas include: IBD; Hepatology; Nutrition; Luminal ERCP; Therapeutic Endoscopy.
You’ll have a job plan that includes ward cover, outpatients and endoscopy activity and the job plan would be designed as per the sub specialist interest of the candidate. The appointee(s) would be expected to take part in the out of hours Upper GI Bleed Rota (which would also include a weekend ward round as per the frequency of the GI Bleed cover).
Candidates for the post will hold a CCT or be within six months of obtaining CTT or hold a CESR. Opportunities available to work full and part time. A minimum of 8 PA’s would be required with a commitment to cover the out of hours rota as required. A generous relocation package available.
