Locum Consultant in Public Health / Locum Consultant in Public Health Medicine

Full Time (10 Sessions) 

Anticipated Start Date: November 2020 

Based St Cadocs Hospital, Lodge Road, Caerleon

Our regional hub in the Test Trace and Protect (TTP) service is fundamental to providing the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board population with an effective health protection service, one that helps fight the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitates our transition into recovery. The post holder will be a senior member of our multidisciplinary team, working closely with Health board, Public Health and a range of partners to ensure the effective delivery of TTP in south east Wales, including the Consultant in Communicable Disease for south east Wales, colleagues in the five Local Authority and Environmental Health.

We are looking for someone with extensive, specialist experience in Public Health protection but who can also help lead the design and delivery of complex areas of work and build relationships with stakeholders within and external to the Health Hoard.

The post holder will be expected to ensure public health influences delivery at a local level throughout the health community covered by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. A high level of intellectual rigor, negotiation, motivation skills and flexibility is required to deal with complex public health issues and to advise and make recommendations regarding services and patient care.

Free parking is available across all Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Sites.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and/or adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

Applicants must hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC

Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
