Consultant Psychiatrist In Adolescent Inpatient Service
Consultant Psychiatrist CAMHS
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership to Wessex House adolescent inpatient unit. This role is suitable for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or a General Adult Psychiatrist with inpatient expertise.
This post is available with a level of flexibility and can be offered at full time or part time, with a minimum of 6 PAs which includes 1.5 SPAs minimum. There will be opportunities to increase the number of sessions for those interested in developing the urgent care pathway or pursuing special interests as well as maintaining professional development. Supervision and training will be provided in order to undertake this exciting and challenging role.
Wessex House is a QNIC accredited 12-bedded adolescent inpatient Unit for 13 to 18 year olds and is a national unit serving as a locality hub for the South West. The focus for the unit is short term assessment and treatment for young people who require admission.
The Somerset NHSFT is the largest provider of CAMHS services in the South West. It has amongst the lowest waiting times nationally; the Unit and Trust are rated Good by CQC. The CAMHS team are currently leading on the design of the regional clinical pathway for both General Adolescent and Eating Disorder Tier 4 models as part of the provider collaborative work for the South West.
There is the option of being part of the all-age psychiatry out of hours on call rota for Somerset. This is not compulsory.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT
- Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry or general adult inpatient
- Section 12 and AC approved
