About us

The Kathleen Kilgour Centre is a Radiation Oncology facility dedicated to providing international best practice in the field of radiation therapy using state of the art technology. Treatment is available to private and publically funded patients and covers all adult malignancies.

The department has a wide-bore CT-simulator, 2 Versa HD linear accelerators each with a six degrees of freedom couch, ABC deep inspiratory breath hold, HDR Brachytherapy, a Monaco 5 treatment planning system and MOSAIQ patient management system.

Our stereotactic programme currently includes treatment to central nervous system/spine, bone, nodal metastasis and lung malignancies. We are currently developing a liver stereotactic RT programme. We use HDR brachytherapy to treat gynaecological, prostate and skin malignancies, the latter using Valencia applicators.

The Kathleen Kilgour Centre currently has six Radiation Oncologists with a variety of specialist interests in all adult malignancies. Supporting them are Radiation Therapists, Medical Physicists, Radiation Oncology Nursing and Administration. We practice in collegial partnership with Medical Oncologists, Hematologists and Palliative Care Physicians in both the public and private sectors.
