King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.

The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.

We have stand alone and rotation posts in Gerontology, Acute and General Medicine and specialties. These posts are suitable for doctors who have Foundation Competencies, having successfully completed a two year Foundation Programme, or have achieved equivalent competencies, up to ST2. We are a busy and friendly Teaching Hospital and will help the successful candidates whatever their experience to improve their portfolio, experience and skills. For candidates wishing to consider alternative completion of core competencies we have experience of supporting balanced, bespoke training.

The successful candidates will join a clinical fellow Programme across Gerontology and Acute and General Medicine. We have excellent links with critical care, emergency medicine and all our other specialties on site to develop the right experience for the right training. Maintaining our clinical safety and excellent outcomes are important to us, our doctors work compliant, safe rotas with appropriately staffed teams; we encourage all junior clinical fellows to take part in out-patient clinics, and all posts include procedure training.

Postgraduate education and training are essential components of these posts; while the posts are designed for service the post-holders will have the same support from Educational and Clinical Supervisors, the Department of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, with access, support and encouragement for all aspects of your professional porfolios, including access to teaching and training in Departments and across the Trust, MRCP support and Appraisal support; we also have an International Doctors Development Programme.
