Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust provides general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the South East of England.

We treat over half a million patients each year. Working as one hospital across two sites, and playing to the strengths of both, gives the flexibility to develop services which meet the needs of our patients at different stages of their treatment and care.

We are looking for an individual who will work within a small team of neuroanaesthetists and make an active contribution to quality improvement, education and training and service development. The trust as a whole cover over 13,000 surgical sessions per year. The department has numerous special interests and it is actively involved in teaching, training, and simulation.

The timetable will include weekday theatre sessions as appropriate and for discussion and agreement with the successful candidates. The working requirement of the post will be for 10 Programmed Activities.

Please refer to the person specification in the job description with regards to CCT requirements.

When completing the application form please ensure you complete the section relating to your CCT date. If you have already had your CCT please confirm when you will be on the GMC Specialist Register. Please be aware you only have 12 months from your CCT to join the specialist registrar otherwise you will have to go through the CESR Route.

In the interest of equal opportunities, we want to make sure that information about candidates is provided in the same format so all applicants should fill in the standard application form on the NHS Jobs website and attach their cv.

Interested candidates are invited to contact Dr Chris Carey, Lead Consultant Neuroanaesthetist via email at chris.carey1@nhs.net
