Consultant in Public Health/Consultant in Public Health Medicine for East London NHS Foundation Trust

NHS Consultant (dependent on experience and qualifications) or NHS Agenda for Change Scale 8d/9 (subject to grading assessment) - 0.6 WTE (part time / job share) permanent contract.

East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) is seeking to recruit a Public Health Consultant to help us put population health and inequalities at the heart of our organisation. We see the implementation of healthcare public health as a core part of this work.

The postholder will work with the Director of Integrated Care and the Chief Medical Officer and other colleagues to lead on improving the health and wellbeing the communities ELFT serves. The postholder will be expected to work across organisations and advocate for change effectively. A key aspect of this role is to work effectively across Integrated Care Systems and with borough partners, including borough public health teams, to ensure ELFT is engaged with and influencing the population health programmes of work across the systems in which it operates.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Consultant in Public Health, who has a proven track record working across all domains of public health and is passionate about reducing inequalities in health. They are likely to be an established consultant with highly developed public health skills to help drive and deliver public health programmes across ELFT. Experience in developing and delivering health care public health is an advantage.

ELFT is a CQC Outstanding NHS Foundation Trust, with big ambitions to improve quality, value and outcomes for the populations we serve, and to improve the experience of our staff. We work across a population of c. 1.8m, two Sustainability & Transformation Partnerships and six place-based partnerships. We provide a variety of mental health, community health, primary care and specialised services.

This role will be based primarily at the Trusts headquarters in East London. NHS terms and conditions apply to this role.
