Terrific opportunity for a psychiatrist in a private Vancouver clinic assessing and managing the mental health issues of adults and families.

Location:  Beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver has ranked 6^th for its “People” assessment in the World’s Best Cities 2020 Report by Resonance Consultancy and in particular for the educational attainment by residents and foreign-born citizenry.

Vancouver is located on the Pacific side of Canada.  The population of Greater Vancouver is 2.5 million.

Weather is the most moderate in Canada and typically has only one or two days of snow per year.

The Clinic/Surgery: In Canada, our clinics are what would be called surgeries in the UK.  Most clinics are privately owned but psychiatrists, like all doctors, are paid by the government health system on a fee for service basis.  You have considerable flexibility in how you practice as a psychiatrist.

Former UK physicians rave about the lack of administrative work when seeing patients. The government does not set rules about how you practice.

This position for a psychiatrist is in a beautiful private clinic in downtown Vancouver near many popular attractions.  Ask to see our video of the clinic.

There are four general practitioners and a psychiatrist with enough patient demand for additional practitioners.

Your Role: You will use your extensive hands-on experience and background to further the mental health of the population which has a large variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, and  substance and alcohol use disorder, for some examples.

Patients are referred to you by general practitioners working in the clinic and from a large geographical area, including Greater Vancouver. 

The psychiatrist in our client’s clinical setting will approach care by:

• Having a recovery-oriented approach
• Providing culturally safe and responsive care for Indigenous patients
• Including families whenever possible
• Employing the principles of community-based psychiatric care

The clinic is on street level, in an urban high traffic area with secure physician parking stalls. The convenient location provides public transit directly to the clinic for patient ease.

In summary, the psychiatrist who will be selected for this position will provide an innovative and comprehensive array of psychiatric assessments, treatment, and rehabilitation services to support the recovery and rehabilitation of these individuals so that they can function in the community.
