Respiratory Medicine - Interstitial Lung Disease Consultant

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University Hospital of North Midlands to join the team of Respiratory Consultants working at our Royal Stoke and County sites. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide care and diagnostic services for patients presenting with Interstitial Lung Disease (candidates will be provided the required training to develop expertise in this field).

The successful candidates will complement the expertise of the 17 Respiratory Consultants, 8 SpRs, 2 NIHR recognised academic fellow posts, and 25 Clinical Nurse Specialists working across the Respiratory Medicine Department. The department provides both an inpatient, outpatient and day case Sleep & Ventilation Service, Interstitial Lung Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Lung Cancer, Pleural Procedures and General Respiratory services across both our sites.

The Respiratory Department is the regional centre for interstitial lung disease and non-invasive ventilation. The Respiratory Department consists of 4 Respiratory Wards with 119 inpatient beds, including a 26 bedded Acute Lung Unit with 16 NIV beds, 2 Respiratory Physiology Departments over 2 sites offering a range of lung function tests.

A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory and General Medicine is required.

A “welcome bonus” and generous relocation package is available for the successful candidate. The Trust’s recruitment premium means that individuals choosing to come and work at UHNM in the role of Respiratory Consultant will benefit from an additional £18,000 payable in 3 installments of £6,000 at the end of each year following appointment, in addition to their basic salary. We also offer an attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 to successful applicants.
