CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST - 10 PAs (Fixed Term/12 Months)

South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) has an exciting opportunity and is looking to recruit a locum Consultant Psychiatrist for Acute and Crisis Pathway with emphasis of Leadership Skills development.

This post is in our Acute and Crisis Pathway with shared sessions between in-patient Consultant role and Southwark Home Treatment Team (SHTT). Consultant Psychiatrist role will be to cover adult in-patient ward (5PA) and the provision of psychiatric care and consultant responsibilities for SHTT (5PA). The Consultant will have a unique opportunity to work with the executive leadership team to develop effective interface between services in the Acute and Crisis pathway.

The role is for the individual interested in service improvement and development of their leadership skills. It gives an opportunity to work with Southwark Directorate Management Team and be part of quality improvement initiatives in the Acute/Crisis Care pathway in Southwark.

It is a condition of your employment that you are, and remain a fully registered medical practitioner and are included on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry held by the General Medical Council (GMC), or are eligible for inclusion into the register within six months of your appointment and continue to hold a licence to practice. You will be approved under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and be an Approved Clinician or able to achieve this within 3 months of your appointment.

The salary range for this post is in accordance with the NHS consultant salary scale (whole time), plus London Weighting (whole time).
