Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher-Senior) in Intestinal Failure, Transplantation and Nutrition, in two of the UK’s most prestigious hospitals. 

The postholder will spend 6 months at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, followed by 6 months at St Marks Hospital in London.  This post is available from ASAP until 05 September 2021.  Alternatively, a standalone 6 month post based only at Addenbrooke's from ASAP is available.

The successful candidate will be working in the Intestinal and Multivisceral Transplant unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. This role involves assessing patients’ suitability for transplant and providing inpatient and outpatient care of patients post-transplant. The candidate will be supported by a team with Gastroenterologists, Specialist Nurses/Coordinators, Transplant Surgeons and Physicians, and associated Junior Doctors.

The following 6 months will be spent at the Intestinal Failure Unit in St Mark’s Hospital in London, providing medical care for patients with complex type 2 and type 3 intestinal failure, together with other general and specialist gastroenterology problems. They will form part of an expert multidisciplinary team, including IF Physicians, Dietitians, Nurse Specialists, Surgeons, Psychologists and Pharmacists.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
