Medical Consultant Salary/ Agenda for Change 8D
The Grampian Health System places a high value on the importance of Public Health. The Public Health Emergency has been met with a swift and sustained response from our entire team, strengthening already well-formed partnerships in Health and Social Care and Community Planning. But our value does not end with the pandemic. Prevention and self-management are prominent ambitions contained within NHS Grampian’s Clinical Strategy – a clear demonstration of intent for population health. As we continue to develop, we are looking for forward-thinking colleagues to join our progressive Public Health Team, supporting us to deliver an ambitious and far-reaching programme of work. The successful candidates will bring Public Health expertise, drive and enthusiasm to build on a successful track record.
We want to recruit staff to the equivalent of 2.30 WTE and have portfolios to fill in Health Protection, Health Care Planning and Pharmacy. We are keen to match the interests, passion and logistics of candidates to the needs of our organisation and Public Health Team.
The need for physical distancing is influencing where and how we work, but our usual work site is in Aberdeen. We always offer flexible arrangements and encourage working in different locations to build relationships and enhance partnerships.
Those with the requisite health protection expertise will participate in a 1 in 7 out-of-hours on-call rota covering Grampian and the Islands.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of:
- Managing Health Protection Incidents in addition to routine surveillance and management of Communicable Diseases.
- Using data, research and intelligence to understand complex circumstances, design solutions and drive activity.
- Working in complex political and social environments to shape services and improve the impact on the health of the population.
In return, we can offer you the opportunity to live and work in an area of outstanding beauty with access to a wide range of recreational opportunities, from the shores of the Moray Firth to the Cairngorm National Park. Excellent transport links, education and the choice of City or rural living means we can offer an enviable work-life balance.
