Northshore Medical & Aesthetics Centre is looking for an experienced Rheumatologist to join our team in Bermuda. We are a leading medical centre
on the island.
In the role you will be required to diagnose and treat rheumatic conditions reporting into the medial director and Business Managers. You should demonstrate excellent diagnostic skills, exemplary knowledge of general medical practices, be a competent leader and work well in a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create treatment modalities based on scientific research
- Treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases, pain disorders affecting joints, and osteoporosis
- Ability to address over 200 other types of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, gout, back pain, tendinitis, and osteoporosis
- Treat soft tissue problems related to musculoskeletal systems and sports related soft tissue disorders
- Ability to work in-conjunction with Sport and Rehabilitation clinic
- Identify and diagnose diseases of the joints
- Study signs and symptoms of rheumatic disease and evaluates it effect on their system
- Design individualized treatments depending on a patient’s disease
- Studies and gauges the results of a patient’s lab tests
- Able to utilize technologies and tools such as radiographies, MRI’s, CT scans, nuclear medicine, biopsy, and ultrasound
- Perform infusion therapy of biologics for patients
- Perform joint aspirations to provide relief and testing
Qualifications and Skills
- Obtained a medical degree from 4 years of medical school (M.D. or D.O.)
- 3 years of resident training in internal medicine
- A national board exam administered by either the American Board of Internal Medicine or recognize UK board certification
- 2 to 3 years of rheumatology fellowship training in an accredited medical setting
- A sub-specialty certification exam
