Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine

Applications are invited for a substantive post within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust. Candidates must have full General Medical Council (GMC) and be on the Specialist Register of the GMC in Intensive Care Medicine. The post will be to commence as soon as possible.
The successful candidates will join an enthusiastic team of 18 Critical Care Consultants, 12 Trainees and 21 Middle Grade Doctors in delivering Critical Care services across both The Royal Preston and Chorley Hospital sites. The Critical Care unit currently has 27 beds on the RPH site and 4 on the CDH site. A multi-million pound upgrade and expansion to 34 Beds on the RPH site is expected to be complete by early 2021

The Department has an excellent reputation for teaching and training. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in both undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals provides a wide range of general hospital services to around 370,000 people from the Chorley, South Ribble and Preston areas. In addition we provide specialist services to around 1.5 million people from Lancashire and South Cumbria. This includes Neurosurgery, Major Head and Neck surgery and Gynae-oncology. The Trust has recently been designated as both a Major Trauma Centre and Vascular Centre.
