The rota includes prospective cover for leave.

This is a Trust appointment and is suitable for an enthusiastic doctor looking to take up a career in Emergency Medicine. You will join our team of doctors and will be working in a busy Emergency Medicine department on the junior doctor rota.

You will see all types of patients attending the Emergency Department and will initiate investigations and formulate management plans with direct support and supervision from senior colleagues.

Doctors working in the department gain a wide range of experience due to the diverse nature of patient presentations. We receive a variety of speciality patients (stroke, paeds, O&G, ENT, Max fax) including medical, surgical and orthopaedic patients. In addition, clinical experience is supported by a robust teaching program, shop floor teaching and the presence of Clinical Educators who have dedicated shop floor teaching time.

In hours, the departments run in-house cardiac arrests with support from our anaesthetic colleagues. For out of hours cardiac arrests, we receive support from our medical colleagues as well. Paediatric emergencies are managed joinly with the paediatric team.

Regular training/teaching is provided weekly, following an initial induction course, and the post-holder is expected to attend. The Trust runs an active audit and quality improvement program and successful applicants will be invited to participate.
