Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) invites applications to a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry post which has arisen due to the current post holder moving to a different post internally.

CRHT services are provided from three bases Caludon Centre in Coventry, St Michaels Hospital in Warwick and Avenue House in Nuneaton This post will cover the localities of Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton and North Warwickshire.

The post will join a team of 1.0 wte Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry and 1.0 wte Speciality doctor providing Crisis resolution home treatment (CRHT) service to the older adult population of Coventry and North Warwickshire localities.

This is a strategically important post, as it enables dedicated Consultant input into acute community care and treatment, with the facility for rapid assessment and flexible review of complex patients and timely discharge in liaison with Acute/ Community colleagues and/or General Practitioners.

The post is based on a 10 PA job plan (7.5 PAs in Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 PAs in Supporting Professional Activities) and it is expected that there will be participation in a Consultant on call rota with a frequency of approximately one in fifteen.

As the Trust is a teaching Trust with close links to Warwick Medical School the post holder will be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Criteria to apply include being a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or having an equivalent postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry, full GMC Registration and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry (or within 6 months of completing CCT). The post holder must also be eligible for Approved Clinician Status and be Section 12 approved.

The post holder must have a valid driving license and access to an appropriate means of independent transport commensurate with travelling required to fulfil the role.
