International Training Fellow Gastroenterology (MTI)

Salary £48,075

40 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University Hospital of North Midlands to join the team of Gastroenterologists working on both our Royal Stoke and County sites. We are looking for an individual to train and develop within our EUS / diagnostic services. In return the individual will be rewarded with dedicated research sessions to support their development.

The successful candidate will complement the expertise already available within the specialty and have a particular interest in EUS, with your EUS training supported by a dedicated team of Gastroenterologists. The successful candidate will be expected to rotate across both County and Royal Stoke sites.

You will join an enthusiastic team of 12 Medical Gastroenterologists. The Endoscopy service has 2 JAG accredited units based between Royal Stoke and County sites, offering a range of advanced GI endoscopic techniques and diagnostic procedures.

The GI department has a major interest in therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP, EUS, upper and lower GI EMR, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatology, Nutrition, Capsule Endoscopy and Functional Disease and is looking to support an individual to extend their EUS skills.

There will also be ample opportunities for research and quality improvement developments, and the previous post-holder was fully involved in our internally run courses and has submitted work at local and national conferences as well as having a paper published. We have close links with Keele University giving opportunities for both teaching and research. We also have a very active post graduate teaching program in the Trust providing potential for further involvement at that level.
