MYDoc Registrar Trauma & Orthopaedics
MYDoc Registrar - Trauma and Orthopaedics
Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of these new roles aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. Our posts will combine education and career development with practical patient-facing care.
These posts are not recognised UK training posts. Nevertheless, MYDoc doctors will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities to consolidate and develop alongside their experiential learning, with certificated outcomes or credentialing to support career progression through other routes.
An Introduction to the Division/Specialty from the Head of Clinical Service
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and motivated locum doctor to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Team based at the brand new, state of the art Pinderfields hospital in Wakefield. This post is a fixed term position to commence ASAP for 12 months.
The post holder will participate on a full shift rota and will be required to provide a range of services including the supervision and management of inpatients and outpatient clinics. The post holder will also be expected to assist during trauma/emergency and elective surgery. The post holder will also be encouraged to undertake continuing medical education and study leave will be available as per the Trust policy. The post holders will receive teaching every week.
The post holder will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the Consultants and other members of the teams in the day to day management of patients within the service. Duties include ward rounds, assisting the Consultants in the operating theatre, undertaking the pre and post-operative care of patients on the wards and attendance for referrals in the Accident and Emergency Department.
These posts are therefore ideally suited to those looking to augment their portfolio for career progression in Trauma and Orthopaedics.
These posts will be part of our cross site “senior trainee” rota – which is compliant with working time regulations and the 2016 junior doctor’s contract, averaging 48 hours per week.
