ABERDEEN CENTRE FOR REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE

CLINICAL RESEARCH FELLOW IN REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE

This post, which mixes clinical and research responsibilities, is based in one of the most progressive Fertility Centres in the UK.  Clinical responsibilities principally comprise the management of patients undergoing fertility  treatment. Specific training in all aspects of assisted reproduction (ovarian stimulation, ultrasound, oocyte recovery, embryo transfer, basic embryology, cryobiology, surgical sperm retrieval, gamete donation) as well as consolidation of general infertility management skills including HyCoSy will be available.  The Centre provides a seven day a week service and you will share duties with your colleagues. As part of this post you would be expected to complete BFS/RCOG special skills training in management of infertile couples and assisted reproduction modules. The linked research work should form the basis for the submission of a thesis for higher degree.

This post is for 2 years. It is suited to individuals who have completed MRCOG or equivalent qualification and have an interest in reproductive medicine. Evidence of a commitment to research is essential. It is expected that the post will be granted honorary specialist registrar status by the Postgraduate Dean.

The salary will be paid in the range of £34,978 - £61,865 per annum on the Clinical Staff Salary Scale for Staff not holding Clinical Consultant contracts.
