King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a locum consultant with a specialist interest in fetal medicine to join the team at Kings College Hospital Fetal Medicine Unit, the unit is one of the largest Fetal Medicine Units in the world.  It is a major referral unit for the assessment and management of fetal abnormalities and high-risk pregnancies. The centre is serving the local population for both King’s sites as well as many referrals from all over the UK and overseas.  There were 30,000 scans performed every year. Around 2000 invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed per year.   

All high risk obstetrics services are provided at Kings College Hospital, where there is a level 3 NNU, HDU and ICCU care available to mothers and babies. There is also a co-located midwifery-led birthing unit (MLU).

The Obstetric Service provides Fetal Medicine, Maternal Medicine and Advanced antenatal Services with a full range of outpatient clinics, obstetric physicians, and obstetric anesthetist, diagnostic and screening services.
