Locum Paramedic - Gibraltar

5 month fixed term contract

Paramedic required for a short term contract based in Gibraltar - the post is to start immediately for a period of up to 5 months.

You will carry outpatient assessment, pre-hospital care and treatment to all categories of ‘190’ emergency calls and urgent cases as part of a crew.  You will provide front-line out of hospital care, medical retrieval and health-related transport for sick and injured people in an emergency and non-emergency setting. Paramedics work collaboratively with the broader Gibraltar Health Authority and other health care and emergency services to provide quality, patient-centred care within the geographical areas of Gibraltar including British Gibraltar Territorials Waters. When necessary a Paramedic may be called upon to provide cross-border transfers.  You will not be able to undergo any maritime rescues as this needs a PCA and specialist training. 

Example Shift pattern:

12 hours shift, 2 days, 2 nights and 4 off, but with a short-term contract it may be possible you will float between shifts on an ad hoc 48hr week rota.  

You will be provided with rent-free accommodation for the duration together with economy class return flights from the UK to Gibraltar.

Salary will be pro-rata and is dependent on years of reckonable service as a Paramedic in the UK and ranges from £34,257.00-£37,029.00.  It should be noted that candidates must be HCPC registered.
