Colorectal Junior Research Fellow
We are looking for an Junior Clinical Fellow to join our busy Colorectal Department. The successful candidate will work with the existing Colorectal Surgery team which is led by eight Consultant Surgeons. This is an exciting opportunity which will enable the post holder to develop both their clinical skills at Core Trainee level, in addition to a strong foundation in clinical research.
The Junior Colorectal Fellow will provide a Colorectal and General Surgery service which will include:
On-call cover on a 1:10 rota
Undertake HOT clinics with support of Acute surgical team
Attend regular operating sessions
Undertake research under the supervision of two Colorectal consultants
Participate in ongoing Clinical Audit Programme
The unit offers all aspects of Colorectal Surgery including both cancer and benign surgery. In addition to both laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, the department offers TEMS, IBD, pelvic floor and complex pelvic surgery.
The post holder would take part in a programme of research, clinic and ward based activities designed as far as possible to complement their interests.
This will be fixed term initially for 12 months.
