An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the histopathology team at Wye Valley NHS Trust. Situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, Wye Valley histopathology department provides a comprehensive histopathology service for the County of Herefordshire and Powys.

The department is UKAS accredited and offers opportunities for the candidate in cervical, breast and gastrointestinal histopathology as well as non-gynaecytology; mortuary services are also supported.

It is anticipated that the post holder will bring/evolve special interests which, when integrated with those of the five existing consultants, will allow the department to maintain its high level of diagnostic expertise.

The department is currently working with the West Midlands Cancer Alliance for implementing on site digital pathology.

The intended post is based on a 10 programmed activity session. Any applicant who is unable to work full-time will still be eligible for the post on a part-time or job sharing basis and will take part in annual job planning within the trust. Opportunities will also be available for the new post holder to take on managerial responsibilities in due course.

Candidates should be FRC Path or equivalent qualification and be on the Specialist Registrar of the GMC (or within 6 months of obtaining such at the time of interview),
